What does disk space and bandwidth mean to me?
Each Oikos package comes with a pre-defined amount of disk space. The more files you upload to Oikos, the more disk space you will use. We have given each Oikos enough disk space to accommodate average usage. If you think you may exceed this disk space (by uploading an above-average amount of files) you can purchase more space.
Each time a user views a file in Oikos, their internet connection has to download it. If the file is 30 KB in size, then it uses 30 KB of bandwidth. We have given each Oikos enough bandwidth to accommodate average usage. Most files (pictures and text) require very little bandwidth, however video and audio files use significantly more. If you think you may exceed your allotted bandwidth you can purchase more.
Each Oikos displays disk space and bandwidth usage in real-time and will alert you if you are approaching your limit. You can check your disk space or bandwidth usage in the administration dialog. You can purchase more disk space or bandwidth by emailing us. |
