What is the canvas?
The canvas is a place to express yourself. This page can be completely customized with background images, photos, videos, audio and text.
How do I make changes to my canvas?

Click the edit button next to the canvas icon to enter edit mode. Use the widgets to add photos, text, video, and audio to the canvas. |
Why can’t I upload video or audio?
Oikos has a permissions system which lets the administrator control what can and can’t be added to your Oikos. If you cannot click the Video or Audio button, you do not have permission to add video and audio to your media or wall.
What types of video and audio can I add to my Oikos?
You can add the following formats for video: FLV, MPG, MPEG, ASF, AVI, WMV, MOV
You can add the following formats for audio: MP3
Can I put a YouTube video in Oikos?
Yes. You can add a YouTube video to your wall and media albums.
First, you need to download the YouTube video to your desktop. There are several ways to do this; we recommend the following:
- Copy the URL for your YouTube video (ex. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXFYkbQRgY4)
- Visit http://www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie/
- Rename “get_video” to “WhateverNameYouWant.flv” and click “Save”.
- Now you can add the video to your wall or in a media album.
How do I put pictures in my blog, comments and forum posts?
If you use Internet Explorer:
- Find an image somewhere on the internet
- Right click on the image and select “Properties.” Copy the Address
- Use this code

- When you post your comment, blog or forum post, the picture will appear.
If you use Firefox:
- Find an image somewhere on the internet
- Right click on the image and select “Copy Image Location”
- Use this code

- Find an image somewhere on the internet
