How do I chat with someone?

Find them in the member directory and click the chat bubble on their account picture.

What happens if I try to chat with someone who isn’t online?
If the person is not online, you can still send messages to them. They will be notified of your message the next time they log on.

How do I change my status message?

Click the arrow next to your status message and you can adjust your status.

What does the envelope icon in my chat list mean?
This means that you have received a message from that person while you were offline.

In the status settings, what does “invisible” mean?
Invisible allows you to be logged in to Oikos, but appear offline to everyone else.

What are the plus and minus signs next to someone’s name?
The plus and minus signs signify that you have chatted with this person, but you have not added them to your friends list. Clicking the plus sign will add them to your friends list. Clicking the minus will remove them from your chat list.

Note: People are not notified when you remove them from your chat or friends list.
